New Organist & Choirmaster Announced

Writer's picture: Parish OfficeParish Office

It is my pleasure to announce that Mr. Ethan Ainsworth will be serving St. Philip's Episcopal Church as Organist and Choirmaster, effective August 1, 2021. His skill set and previous experience make him a terrific choice to enrich the liturgical worship of the parish by developing and nurturing our music ministry.

Ethan is an organist, pianist, and bandleader from Hallsville, Texas. He accepted the call to serve as the parish Organist and Choirmaster at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church after an eleven year career serving various United Methodist churches around East Texas. He brings with him a passion for sacred music and an appreciation for the fine musical traditions of the Anglican church. When he isn’t serving from the organ bench he can be found playing jazz piano, singing, and playing drums with bands and orchestras throughout the state. Ethan’s hobbies outside music include restoring

classic cars, such as his red 1966 Ford Mustang coupe, and collecting vintage mechanical typewriters.

We look forward to welcoming him with us on the Tenth Sunday after Pentecost, August 1st.

Faithfully yours in Christ,

Fr. Justin Briggle

Rector, St. Philip's Episcopal Church
